Completely missing

Completely missing both on my Blog and in any and all crafting activities!!

Hopefully I'll get going again soon as we will hopefully be getting my new space sorted out before the new year, and Hubby has bought me some new things for Christmas....just gotta love pointing him in the direction of some lovely on-line scrappy shops!!

I did let him choose his chrissie pressie too so I don't feel too bad in getting him pointed in my preferred direction.

Finally I'm getting into the christmas spirit. That could also be because we have finally had some really cold weather and some flakes of snow. Ross and I went to a preview of the new Disney Film "The Princess and the Frog" today. Can't wait to it to come out in cinemas in January so that I can go and see it in English. I really enjoyed it in French but I'm sure the Original voices and music will make it even better. The animation is brilliant as usual.

Well I'm off to fold some gift boxes, hopefully the beginning of my crafty Christmas bits.

Two challenges in one.

A card for both 2sketches4you and The Cuttlebug Spot.

Used the sketch as inspiration and made the card in monockrome tones. Another Chrimbo card to add to my box.

As usual horrible flash photo as it's 11pm again!

The most amazing Blog Candy ever!

Jaks over at Crafters Kitchen is offering the most amazing Blog Candy..... Can you beleive she's offering a Quickcuts Sillouette!

Go on over, this is one of my fav ever sites for inspiration, and this is the most amazing chance ever. Here is her site

More cards for Sunday.

Well another Sunday has come....at last a chance to do some crafting.

1st card is for the Cuttlebug Challenge 52, create a halloween or fall card. As I don't really have use for a halloween card I went with Fall colours. Browns, oranges, greens and yellows. I used my flowers border embossing folder.

2nd card was for the 2sketches4you challenge, but as usual I did not make the deadline. The problem with this site is that they post the challenge on a Monday, and you have to post by Saturday night...... I'm a Sunday crafter so never seem to be able to participate in time!... Ah well I like the card anyways.

Happy Bunny!

After all the fun I had doing the Cuttlebug Challenge Birthday Palooza last month, I was really happy to see that I was awarded an Honorable mention for my patyicipation. Kinda makes it worth while.

Not sure what I'll get accomplished this week as we have a really busy weekend in view, and I'm working tonight (yup it's Halloween here at Disney already...... and no I'm not the witch!).

Cuttlebug Challenge.... The last piece of the puzzle.

So this is the last items for the Birthday celebration over at Cuttle Bug Challenge Blog.

This week we had to make a Thank you card in the theme of our Party.

I made a tri fold card (I'm now addicted to these!!). Using the same papers I've been using all along. I made the card and covered it then passed each of the "folds" in the bug to emboss the entire card (front and back with Hearts, middle with the swirly one I can never remember the name of!!).

There is also a photo here of everything together:

Invitation week 1
Birthday Card and Box week 2
Mini Album Week 3
Table center Week 4
Thank you card Week 5

This has been a whole lot of fun, thanks ladies.

Papers used are all from the Papermania "Sweet Nothings" stack.

Card for 2 sketches 4 you.

Well it was World card Making day..... so I had an excuse for not waiting for Sunday to create something!

This was made using sketch 36 at 2 Sketckes 4 you. Pretty vague interpretation.... I did a scalloped paper and my line is my line of leaves..... It's actually a lot more 3D in real life as the picture is double mounted on pop dots and some of the leaves are also on 3D mousse, Had to lay it flat for the photo tonight!!!

TFL.

Cuttlebug challenge week 4

I left this one kind of late as I was sooooooo thrown for a loop. We had to make a table center to match our party theme.... and if I'm honest this is probably something I would never normally use, therefore I really struggled. I did'nt want to go over the top and create something which was just going to sit around my appartment gathering dust (my DH would say most of my creations already have enought of that!).

I re-used an organza box I've been holding on to forever. Turned it updide down and put my mini box inside the lid. I then used the metal frame (it has a wire base construction) to poke flowers, little word cards and a mini banner into. I then twirled some pretty green ribbons around the base to look like Grass?

Well I hope it will get used, and can at leased be packed flat until I need it!

The papers used are the same as those for my other projects and the banner and flowers were embodded using swiss dots, argyl and flowers in circles embossing folders.

Sorry the photo is pretty naff but my appartment has next to no natural light today! Eek winter is really on the way!

Another busy Sunday.

Yet again I got up early this morning and have been amazingly productive...both crafty and non!

Mini Apple pies with fresh apple sauce, jam tarts, Bread ......
Washing, folding... (I don't do ironing!)....
Cleaned the kitchen....
Oh and here's the crafty stuff:

1 Card that holds a gift card for the Simplyl Scrapping September challenges.

1 Tri Fold card for a challeneg I set over on Scrappy moms.

2 Mini calanders for gifts
All this and I still have two challenges to complete and upload before the 30th, so I guess I do some moe crafting tonight! Yeh for Sundays!

Second Sunday Post....

Tina and I setourselfs the challenge over on Scrappy moms to do the Prima September scetch.

I saw a couple of versions of this sketch that I loved and have played a bit with it! I loved some of the photos from a walk in Paris that Greg and I had this summer, and also I bought some tiny drawings which I wanted to incorporate with the photos.

I really like how this has turned out, soft and pretty. I'm still learning "shabby"..... don't think I've quite got it yet, but I enjoyed doing it so I will definately pass this way again!

First Sunday post.....

My project for this weeks Cuttlebug Challenge.

A Mini Book to go with my other part items. This was fun!

I made the book in the shape of a tea cup for my tea party. The pages are all coloured cardstock which have been passed in my cuttlebug and are pre made with matching papers to my cards and box that I made for previous weeks. The handle is made from alpha beads and spells out: You Me who else? and it's all ready to fill with photos of who came to tea?

I'm almost scared to think what we'll have to make for next week!

Todays 2nd finished project....

I'm on a roll!

Just finished washing, ironing and stitching the Silk cusion cover I've been painting this week.

I can't take much credit as it was a pre-serti design (ie, already drawn out in outliner). I chose loads of greens as I'm slowly re-doing my lounge in white and green. I really enjoyed doing this as I've not done much silk painting these last few years. I think I may need to get some scarf blanks and renew my scarf collection!

70th Birthday Card

This card is my contribution for the Week 2 September challenge at Simply Scrapping. I made this one for Gregs Aunt who turns 70 this month. This in mind I kept it soft and a little more traditional.

Cuttlebug Challenge week 2

I had fun making this box and card for the second week of this month long challenge.

A little box, just the right size to put a selection of tea-bags for my tea party, teamed with a Cup Cake card and my invitation from last week. Can't wait to see what we are challenged to do next time.

Exciting News.

I've been working on this for a while, and it's finally time to share!

I have set up my own crafting site..... non commercial..... non stressful (I hope)..... and hopefully my new "home from home".

Over recent month the Scrapitude site where I "hung out" most has pretty much died out, with bothy the ladies who ran it now off doing other stuff, and less and less active users it was a shame, but pretty much inevitable that those of us still using it needed a new home.

Well from there came the idea of http://scrappymoms.ning.com ..... Not just a scrapping site despite the name, everyone welcome whatever carft you take part in.

Hope to see some folks signing in soon. Fun, challenges and chat are the order of the day.

First Challenges for September

Here are the first two challenge cards I have made in September.
Simply Scrapping September challenge 1
Christmas card using Pink.

Cuttle Bug Challenge 47 Birthday Invitation
"Come to Tea"

Life is finally getting back to a "normal" routing. Ross went back to school on Thursday and is already getting homework and organising his week!

Summer is nearly over!

Well for Ross anyways. I have to admit I can't wait to get on that aeroplane next Saturday to go and get him. I've missed him so much!

This week I've been really busy most evenings so all I've managed are a couple of cards for the August challenges over at Simply Scrapping. I've done challenge 1 & 3 so far as the colour combination for challenge 2 this month has my head in a spin! (If I'm struggling with a card I don't think there is any way I would manage a whole LO!.... I have dona a LO for one of this months challenges but I'm not happy with the journaling, so still need to "fiddle" a bit more!

As this was our last weekend on our own Greg and I did something we love, a visit to Paris, and montmartre. The Church is beautiful and it always seems magical to have Paris spread out at your feet. We were really lucky as it was hot, but not at all hazy, which is very unusual.

I can't share photos yet as they are loaded onto my other PC! How daft am I!

Another cuttlebug Challenge

Another challenge using my bug, this time for the Cuttlebug Spot.

Create a card using a fav folder.... well this time it had to be the swiss dots and the argyl, both soooooo good for masculine cards when you don't want to go for the flowery!
Just in case it's too hard to see the argyl pattern is on the white rectangle that teddy is sitting on.

Brown cardstock, a VERY old K&Co teddy sticker and Happy Birthday so old I don't even remember where or when I came by them! Paper is from Papermania boutique stack and ribbon from my bargain purchase of the day.....yey.... 5 reals of satin ribbon for 1euro!! (needless to say I bought several packets, oh and the same in organza too!).

Finally a bit of creativity

Cuttlebug challenge 42...... a Gatefold card using a fav bug folder.

I love how the bug embosses this holographic card. It's not so flashy IRL but the flash certainly did make it "pop".... even if it did washout the rest of the card. (Blue cardstock & holographic from the Paper Mill, patterned paper inside papermania, stickles and the pearls are tiny nail gems).

How cute is my little one????

Yup you guessed it.... Proud Mom Moment!

Ross in his full Kilt outfit.Ross and Grandad. I'm so proud of this photo. My dad looks wonderful, and so happy.
Greg and Ross at the Wedding. The lighting at the wedding venue was horrible. Everything came out looking orange! I hope the official photographers photos are better!!!!

Bummer! Oh and I'm back!

I've just been "catching up" on the Blogs I follow ...... The Next Level challenge blog is closing! I really enjoyed it this last two months, such a shame it has to come to an end so quickly.

We got back from vacation on Monday night, and straight back to work Tuesday Morning, so it's taking me a while to get myself organised again!

It's really weird without Ross and I'm missing him like crazy. I actually think it's getting harder to leave him each year. He is such fun to be around and it's weird that we can't have our daily chat about our day together.

I have some brilliant photos to share and scrap, so hopefully Sunday I'll get myself organised with the uploading, printing and creating.

Oh New Cuttlebug...

Just seen this! How cool.

Oh and I would sooooooooooo love to be going to Orlando for this!

The Next Level 4

I love how this card works.

The colours are much brighter, but it is such an overcast day here they seem to have developed a blue cast.

I will definately be playing with this style of card again.

The Next Level 3

I Love this sketch from the Next Level.

Finally a LO

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago, during our first evening picknick of the year. Some lovely evening sunshine which we enjoyed on the banks of one of our towns new manmade lakes. Finally this town is becoming a nice place to live, with great open spaces.

The photos lent themself really well to the June challenge 2 at Simply Scrapping which was to make a LO or card in monochromatic blues. Two different Blue Cardstocks, flowers were downloaded form the web, cut and layered then brushed with Glimmer mist and finished with blue stickles on the edges and clear domed centers.
It feels great to finally scrap a real LO again.

Another couple of cards

Two more chards for challenges on the web.

This first one is for the ecetch challenge at 2sketches 4 you.

It does not show up too well in the photo but the B&W paper is debossed using my cuttlebug, and the little butterflies are actually silver.

The second one is for June challenge 1 at Simply scrapping. I used card scetch number 10. Kept it nice and simple so that I can add whatever sentiment I need when I want to use the card.

A fun day out.

1 boy, Loads of Fire engines......= LOADS of fun!!

Cards, Cards and more cards!

Seems I can't get motivated for any LOs at the moment so here are a few more cards!

This is for the first Challenge at "The Next Level".... An aperture card with a lolipop flower. I had loads of fun making this one.

A Boys card as I always need them!

A card I made for Gregs Sister, it was supposed to be for a challenge but I did'nt get around to uploading!

I have printed out some new photos today, so who knows I may actually get some scrapping done sometime soon.

Thursday, May 28, 2009

Finally a bit of creativity.....

here are a couple of cards from this week. One was for a challenge...which as usual I forgot to photograph so missed the posting deadline! Ah well just as well they both have homes to go to, loads of birthdays in may and june so the more cards the merrier at the moment!

Oh and yes I did finally succombed to using "cutesy" images! I was given a set of really cute stamps for my Birthday, so pulled out the watercolours and had some fun! I guess more of these are to come as I loved the "painting".

Playing....

As you can see I'm in a playing mood! So far I like my Banner, but I've still got some way to go with the overall LO. Don't expect changes quick...it took me a year to do a Banner...LOL!

So glad it's the weekend. DH and DS are both running our towns road race tomorrow (3kilometers and 1K for the "little one". I can't beleive it's a year since the last race already. I must do a LO again this year with my runners.

I got in today to find a lovely package from Kimmy, bestest web buddie ever, with the most gorgeous card ever, thanks hun. I've done a couple of cards myself this week but have not taken photos yet.

Such generous ladies on the web.

There are always such generous crafty folks on the web.

Here are just some of the many current "candies" from the lovely ladies of the Card making and Scrapbooking communities.

OK so I'm getting better at this link stuff.... finally managed to put the Blog Candy photos and links in my side bar...... I hope!

I'm off to continue exploring Blog land now... and try out some new tricks too!!

Sunday, May 17, 2009

Well I'm 40!

Yup, no way to stop it.... it kind of crept up and flattened me. But you know what? I'm actually fine about it! Sure it seems like a grown up number, but I still don't feel like a grown up..... I'm sure my mental age is decreasing somewhere along the lines!

It's been a busy and kind of scary time for me recently. Money sucks..... health is dodgy.......scray stuff going on at work.......basically it feels like the world is ganging up on me at the moment. Despoite it all I am still feeling positive and having a great time, so I guess I'm managing to put everything in the correct perspective. (don't tell anyone but that's probably the age thing!!!).

I did have a bit of a play this week, so another LO to show you.Ross is getting very "grown up" too. I loved this photo of him I took recently. It works both in colour and B&W, but I had a hankering to do a B&W LO, so here it is.

I'm loving white cardstock at the moment.

I got loads of lovely cards from my online friends, so thank you everyone... you know who you are. I also received some amazing pressies from my family and friends, so thanks again to everyone.

Recent Bits.....

I've been slow on the Blogging again, but I have been doing some scrapping. Here are a couple of my most recent efforts!
Top photo was done for a NSBD challenge on Scrapbook.com, and the second for a challenge for Butterfly Carfts challenge blog.

Sunday, April 5, 2009

Well I did it again.....

Scrap that is!

First LO since January..... simple and most of all FLAT... yup no bumps, no lumps. The most "dimensional" part of the LO are the letters I used for the title.

I've no idea why it ended up being flat, somehow it just seemed that the photos required a simple, non fussy kind of LO.
It felt good to be scrapping again. Seemed at the time to have taken me ages too.
